this thing is INSANE. it chews through games like i've never seen. it's easily 4 or more times faster than my previous card ( the 7800gtx no slouch ). but the cool part is i get to turn on the all pretty pretty that usually slows down games - i can turn it all up and more at 1900x1200 and it's smooth like butter. damn i'm in love. 11/7/2006 Gears of WarAhh yeaa - it looks it wasn't just hype. Looks like this is going to define next gen gaming.

The Spacecraft is filled with comments like this. or at least comments filled with a negative tone. I'll first respond directly to this.
Nope. not my idea. although i dig it. i think the xbox360 is awesome. i think their whole gamer card and achievement thing is genius in it's conception and execution. oh yea, i'm not 7. Here's another good example of someone not 7 using one. Trixie306.
I was thinking a bit about why exactly people are so upset that we attempted to improve spaces. I mean besides the numerous obvious bugs, people seem more upset about the fact that we're changing things. I think that has a lot to do with us starting to be successful at what we set out to do. We set out with the idea of creating a place that represented you on the web. Here are my interests, my music, my thoughts, my pictures, my friends. Here's a small encapsulation of me in which you can interact with and discover things about me. If you follow that logic out it only makes sense that you would be upset that we're mucking with it. we're changing the way you represent yourself to the world. It's like if i came into your room and swapped out all your cool skin tight acid wash jeans for bell bottoms.
I think spaces has a bit to go before it can be exactly that. before it can be the conduit used to represents your personality on the web. so you'll have to kindly exscuse our growing pains. spaces is still taking it's baby steps and the future does hold a great deal of potential. 8/19/2005 fun with 10.3 toysSorry I never responded to the previous post. First you need to go to this space and see hidden toys we've added for power users :
than you need a remote server running ASP.NET. With a few lines of code you can output images from text:

than on your html part just include an image link to your aspx page that is outputting images like so: <img src="http://www.lithe.net/hitcounter/songreader.aspx">
Displaying current song and ip address information is just one idea - there's all sorts of cool things this could be used for. Lemme know what you guys come up with.

Attached is all my before and after pictures 8/8/2005 home improvements day 6So we're right at the finish line with this bad boy. They finished grouting today and did the trim on the fire place. I think it's looking SUPER HOT. The fireplace turned out way better than i thought it would. They said they'd call about putting the toilet and the baseboards back on.
and here are the pics 8/5/2005 home improvements day 5so it's all very exciting - the tile is all set and the workers cleaned up most of their gear. it'll set over the weekend than grout on monday. they'll also do the metal border for the fireplace on monday.

8/4/2005 Home Improvements Day 4Ahh and day 4 is upon us ! Day 4 is very exciting because actual tiles are on the actual ground ! yay !
There were a few fun snags today. It turns out the geniuses at the tile company don’t make their white and black tiles the same size. As it turns out you don't really notice tho, I think i'll use black grout in between the tiles and that'll help. It also appears as if my fireplace tiles look COMPLETELY different under different lights. Right now they look all mirrory shiny black - but in other lights they look like a leopard print pattern ( which was the desired effect ). I still haven't decided what color caulk to use. I'm tempted to use a gray and have it bring dimension to the whole thing - although the normal standard would be to use black and have it be pretty much hidden. OH THE DECISIONS. edit

8/3/2005 Home Improvements Day 3So yesterday mr home improvement man called in sick and no work was done on my condo-o-love. But today he came back and did some stuff ! yay stuff ! it amounted to turning things red and um, removing my toilet and putting it in my computer room. Apparently tomorrow the real tiling work begins ! stay tuned tile fans !

8/1/2005 home improvmentsSo I thought i'd blog my lil' home improvment project. Today they ripped out all the horrible pink tiles ( YAY !) tomorrow they rip out the horrible carpet and um.. do some other stuff i guess. PICTURES ! 6/14/2005 SundaySunday afternoon I went over to aimee's house and we took off on her teal scooter to get some zoo love’n. The best part of the Aimee’s scooter is the matching teal helmets. There is no doubt something emasculating about riding bitch on a chick’s teal scooter wearing a matching helmet. There was even one particular seafair day where a gang of motorcyclists followed us and verbally mocked us for a good ten minutes. They kept jerking their bikes towards us in a threatening manner – I would totally have stepped up and defended my manhood if I had any. As they passed yelling stuff like “don’t fall off !” and “HAHAHAHHA” I heard one of them say “only in seattle” – and than they zoomed off, the hoochie’s on the back of their bikes prominently displaying their thongs on their low cut jeans.
At the zoo I saw lots of animals sleeping. I saw a tiger sleeping. I saw a bear sleeping. A monkey was sleeping. I saw a really big snake, fast asleep. Since I paid a good six bucks to come and visit the zoo, I feel like the animals could have at least entertained me. Therefore I propose a button next to each exhibit. Pressing the button electrifies the cage and makes the animals more amusing to watch. I know what you’re thinking. This would just cost the already hurting zoo extra funds it doesn’t have. So why not just start having the animals share cages ? I think if the monkey and the tigers and the bears all shared the same cage, they wouldn’t be spending their days sleeping.
We kept seeing signs for “WILD DOGS”. I was really excited to check that out. I would even say that it could have been what I was *most* excited about. I mean come on, WILD DOGS. I was ready to have my fear go up to eleven. I wanted to see foaming dogs throwing their bodies at the cracking glass walls. Aimee and I even came up with the idea of “bring your housecat” day at the zoo. Where you could bring your fluffy Persian kittens and throw in them in the WILD DOGS cage for my 6 dollars worth of amusement. But alas, there was nothing going on in the wild dog’s cage. NOTHING. *sigh*. As we were leaving we overheard a group of kids excitingly talking about seeing the wild dogs. I had to yell back “THE WILD DOGS ARE A LIE !”. Stupid Zoo. |
